Hope that you are having a great run-up to Thanksgiving Day – at least for those of you living in the US. It is hard to believe that this also means that Christmas is right around the corner. How does that happen?
We want to spend the next 3 weeks or so bringing attention daily to families that need sponsored through Embracing Hope Ethiopia. These are all single moms with small children who are courageous in trying to see a cycle of poverty broken in their lives. They live on the edge with no margins and are deeply benefited from a project such as ours as well as the intervention through prayer from wonderful people like yourselves.
So, watch here as each day we will introduce you to one of these moms and their children and also ask that you pray for them, and spread the word in helping them to become fully sponsored.
Introducing Today’s Mom and Child – Sehada and Baby
Sehada is 21 years old and she recently came to us pleading that we help her. Her baby (who has not yet been named) was 2 months old and he was not thriving. While she is Muslim, she came to us and said, “I know you are Christians. In the name of all that you believe in, please let me and my baby into the project before he starves.”
A young mother deeply concerned about her baby, living a 3 minute walk from the Day Care in a very small apartment reserved for the poorest of the poor.
The Baby’s father has refused to take any responsibility, so Sehada has had to try to struggle through to provide for herself and her baby.
You can help this family to embrace a new chapter in their lives – one that turns away from a cycle of poverty and one that turns toward embracing hope in all of life.
